Leon McCarron and Alfonse 'Fonzie' Palaima join Committee of Advisors
The collective experience and expertise of the Foundation's Committee of Advisors has expanded further today with the announcement that Leon McCarron and Alfonse 'Fonzie' Palaima have joined the team.
A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Leon McCarron is an adventurer, film-maker and writer who specializes in long distance, human-powered expeditions. ?Leon has walked 3,000 miles across China, cycled 14,000 miles from New York to Hong Kong and trekked 1,000 miles through the Empty Quarter desert in Oman. A feature-length film about that journey, entitled ‘Into The Empty Quarter’, premiered at the Royal Geographical Society in London in Autumn 2013. Leon's most recent film-making project is 'A Tale of Two Rivers' about journeys with Tom Allen through Iran and Patagonia.
|An experienced motorcyclist, traveller and journalist, with a bachelors degree in photography, Alfonse 'Fonzie' Palaima is considered ‘one of the best in the industry’ when it comes to adventure motorcycle travel photography. Fonzie has been working in the motorcycle industry since 2003, including time as Executive Editor of Motorcycle.com, and is commissioned by the likes of Bell, Buell, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Kymco, Yamaha and Victory.|
