Gone Riding by Dom Giles launched at Motorcycle Live
Many congratulations to Jupiter's Traveller, Dom Giles, on the official launch of his first book, Gone Riding, today at the Motorcycle Live exhibition in the UK.
Dom Giles, who was among the original dozen Jupiter's Travellers, launched Gone Riding earlier today on the Overland Magazine stand at the annual Motorcycle Live exhibition near Birmingham.
Pictured above (from left to right) are Jupiter's Travellers Graham Field and Dom Giles, Executive Director Iain Harper and Foundation Advisors Sam Manicom and Paddy Tyson.
Gone Riding tells the story of Dom's motorcycle journey down the length of the Americas and north through Africa. The Foundation has praised it as, "an illuminating story of adventure, full of thought-provoking insight."
From the back cover: "...vividly described, packed with snippets of fascinating history and full of humorous anecdotes. Dom’s stints of volunteer work add a novel twist to his tale as he learns to hunt for turtle eggs, contributes to a unique scientific discovery in Costa Rica and attempts to introduce Lewis Carroll into the lives of young South Africans in a township school. He is constantly touched by the kindness of others in this insightful, self-deprecating and life-affirming story of what it’s like to be out there on the road."
