Rare 1st Edition of Jupiter's TravelsWe're very pleased to report that after a great deal of searching we've managed to track down a rare 1st edition of Jupiter's Travels, which we'll be offering as another featured lot in the fundraising auction taking place during the Foundation's launch event on 6th October.
The hardback, with its distinctive cover design by Don Macpherson and hand-drawn maps by Sally Scott, was published in 1979 by Hamish Hamilton in London.
We believe this copy of the book spent the first 18 years of its life on the shelves of Birmingham Public Library, before being sold on to a private collector in September 1997.
As you might expect for a 32 year old book with that kind of well-thumbed history, it's a little battered around the edges, some of the pages are marked, and a corner of the map on the inside cover is torn. Nonetheless, we're sure there'll be plenty of bidding competition for this original example of the book that started it all.
Ted will of course be happy to sign the book with a dedication to the person who places the winning bid.
Tickets for the launch event at Coventry Transport Museum on 6th October are on sale via TicketLeap.
